Adoption Law Group is dedicated to providing clients with excellent service at a reasonable price. We want our adoption services to be accessible to those from all income backgrounds. We strive to offer competitive and fair pricing without compromising the quality of our work.
The adoption process may involve some surprising twists and turns along the way, but unexpected fees and costs shouldn't be one of them. Before your case begins, we will give you a clear, upfront fee estimate tailored to your circumstances. In cases where a client can demonstrate financial need, we may offer monthly payment plans or reduced fees.

This fee includes all work necessary to complete your adult adoption, including an appearance at the final hearing and a new birth certificate application.
Basic Fee: $2,600. This fee includes all required paperwork, communication with the Court and the investigating agency, efforts to secure the non-custodial parent's consent, an appearance at the final adoption hearing, and a new birth certificate request. In cases where the non-custodial parent is unwilling to consent to the adoption, the Court will require termination of parental rights before granting an order of adoption.
Fees for Termination of Parental Rights: Depending on the type of termination process required, fees for termination of parental rights range from $1,750 to $3,650, though litigation will result in additional fees. We offer flat-fee pricing for filing the appropriate action and appearing at the initial hearing. If the non-custodial parent does not appear, the flat fee is all you pay. If he or she appears to contest the adoption, we move to an hourly fee agreement.
Basic Fee: Relative adoptions and guardianship to adoptions vary greatly in their facts and legal needs, but $3,600 is the high end of our flat fee pricing for these. See below, however for additional fees that may be required if an action to terminate parental rights is necessary.
Fees for Termination of Parental Rights: Depending on the type of termination process required, fees for termination of parental rights range from $1,850 to $3,850, though litigation will result in additional fees. We offer flat-fee pricing for filing the appropriate action and appearing at the initial hearing. If the non-custodial parent does not appear, the flat fee is all you pay. If he or she appears to contest the adoption, we move to an hourly fee agreement.
This fee includes all work necessary to complete your international readoption or adoption after being granted a guardianship in another country, including an appearance at the final hearing and a request for a new birth certificate if desired.
This fee includes your Petition for Guardianship's preparation, filing, service, and one court appearance. In many cases, the Court will grant your guardianship petition at the first hearing, and no additional court time or document preparation is necessary.
Note: Many California counties operate free guardianship clinics to help guardians who plan to represent themselves in Court prepare and file the necessary forms. If your guardianship case is straightforward, help from a county-sponsored guardianship clinic may be sufficient.
Court appearances, mediation, negotiation, and communications are billed at $300.00 per hour.
This fee includes the preparation and filing of all documents, coordination with the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and the Foster Family Agency (FFA), review of the applicable Adoption Assistance Payment (AAP) rate, and appearance at your final adoption hearing.
The above are estimates only and subject to change.
